About Poliklinik Universitas Sumatera Utara

Poliklinik Universitas Sumatera Utara was originally named the Pusat Kesehatan Mahasiswa (PUSKESMA) and was established in 1970. In 1988, a new building was constructed, and in 2004, it was renamed the Poliklinik Universitas Sumatera Utara. In 2023, a new building was planned for construction, and the name was updated to Poliklinik USU. Poliklinik USU is located at Jalan Universitas No. 40, USU Campus, Medan.

Poliklinik USU serves not only USU students, lecturers, and staff but also the general public. The doctors assigned to Poliklinik USU are lecturers from the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Sumatera Utara, consisting of general practitioners and specialists. Additionally, the medical team at Poliklinik USU includes dentists, nurses, and paramedics who are part of the USU staff. The healthcare services provided by Poliklinik USU include general and dental treatment, nutrition counseling, specialized care, laboratory services, and a pharmacy.

Head of Poliklinik USU

dr. Riyadh Ikhsan, M.Ked(KK), Sp.KK., FINSDV., FAADV is a dermatologist and venereologist. Before becoming the Head of the Polyclinic at Universitas Sumatera Utara in 2022, a position he holds to this day, he served as the Director of the Medical Services and Nursing Division at Pendidikan Sumatera Utara Hospital. He holds a master’s degree in the subspecialty of dermatovenereology and is a certified dermatologist and venereologist. Currently, dr. Riyadh Ikhsan, M.Ked(KK), Sp.KK., also serves as the Head of Cabang Pelayanan Kesehatan Indonesia (PKFI), the Indonesian Health Service Branch, for the 2022–2027 term.

History

1970

This marks the year the Poliklinik Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) was established, previously known as the Pusat Kesehatan Mahasiswa (PUSKEMA).

1988

PUSKEMA moved and occupied a new building on Jalan Universitas.

2004

PUSKEMA changed its name to the Poliklinik Universitas Sumatera Utara.

2023

In 2023, at the initiation of the University Leadership, the Polyclinic Universitas Sumatera Utara is planned to start the construction of a new building in line with the additional services at the Polyclinic.
